Yoga Sutra 1.16

1.16 In becoming immersed in the Supreme Self, one is no longer controlled by the dramas of the world.

The so-called Supreme Self is nothing more than what we already are, without ego clinging. It is the awareness that is hidden behind our wants and desires. It is the voice, however small, that reminds us to breathe and enjoy the beauty of nature, a lover, or a pet. This sutra isn’t saying that when we’re immersed in Self, we no longer have drama in our lives. We’ll just no longer be controlled by them.

Today I will practice breathing into the present moment. When I am feeling controlled by dramas and ego clinging, I will take a breath and look for the beauty in the moment.
